8.5 corporate 10 bolt for '66 Lemans

Thanks! Alot of that information on that thread was specific to one owner GTO guys. One member piped in and stated that '71 and '72 Olds Cutlass and Buick Skylark rear ends are a direct bolt in using the same bolt in axle assemblies. I am assuming, because of the years, these are also 2"wider that anything made '64 to '67.

that is correct you have to consider the different generations but why are you trying to change in the first place? You just got the car and you appear to have lots of other areas to work on?

I am looking for all the right pieces to have in place. Sure there is lots of work to be done before the old 8.2 comes out. But, in the mean time, I want to be absolutely sure of what I want and what fits so if and when these parts come up for sale I can snatch them up. Looking for a stronger rear end, a TH 400, and a good 400 block. I'm planning a built 461-467 with over 500 hp, 6-speed TH 400 (Gear Vendors unit on the back), and either an 8.5-8.6 corporate rear end, a good ol' Chevy 12 bolt, or maybe even a Ford 9" setup for a '66 GM A-body. An aluminum radiator, B-Body spindle swap for better handling and better disk brakes along with a disk brake setup for the rear, and probably A/C as I live in Florida and air conditioning is must down here in the summer. It'll take awhile and suck up every penny I have. But I've always wanted a badass Pontiac and here it is, my chance to build it!

sounds like a great plan, lots of luck. Wallace Racing and Butler Performance are two companies you might want to check out.
