Well guys, I have bought the 1980 Trans am Official Pace car with lots of goodies. Will be leaving for the 1,000km (100km/hour = 60mph/hour) journey tomorrow, and will be leaving by 6AM. Get near a city near Calgary,Alberta (where the car is) tomorrow night. Pick up on Wednesday at around 2:00 PM, and start heading home. number matcher, lots of goodies, bill of sale/window sticker is original. Needs new paint and door jam corners done but thats all. We will be third owners.

Will be getting motor dropped in sometime maybe in fall. Getting new paint next year.

We have it home here and there is about 20 pages of documental stuff. Came with 2 full gasket kits, ac compressor, alternator, starter, ac pump, power locks and window motor, some extra fender flares, original spare tire, extra turbo rim, turbo gauges, ttop trim, ttop bags, complete bushing kit, 2 extra head lights, oil filter, original manual AND with the original DEALERSHIP STICKER. (the little stickers with dealerships name on it.) third owners, come with extra door because driver door is bad (replacement one is good), water pump, timing chain, build sheet, the car of course, one of the rear lights, windshield mirror, has brand new tires, wheel caps, and some other stuff I know I am forgetting.

Hope you noticed how it kept turning off. Motor was not really cold. Won`t do it under high idle just the normal idle. I`m going to have to find where the adjustment screws are though. Unless you know, I`ll do some research. Thanks though for all the help!
 
Assuming it has a Quadrajet they are on the throttle base plate, front of carburetor.
 
Yes, a Q-Jet. I have been looking on youtube and seen that you must turn them until the engine revs the highest out of all the adjusting with the mixture screws, then you go back to the idle adjustment and set it down to around 700 or something. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRCUibTkm3o&list=LLovXTWO9hC8_58UxLlgEB0g&feature=mh_lolz link is for the video that I was looking at.

I have seen this one and thought it strange that he does the demonstation on a work bench. You should have a sticker under the hood showing things like timing and idle speed RPM. With the engine off turn both screws out about 2 to 3 turns from fully seated. Warm the engine up and make sure the choke fully opens. Assuming you have an automatic put the car in gear with the parking brake firmly set and chock both rear wheels so it doesnt accidentally move. Take note of the tachometer reading and ajust the idle speed screw on the drivers side of the carburetor to the speed listed on the sticker. Then start with one of the two mixture screws and turn it in about 1/4 turn. After each 1/4 turn look at the tach and readjust the speed screw if necessary. If you get a drop in RPM turn the screw back out the 1/4 turn. Do the same with the other screw.
