My old original radiator in my 1980 Firebird is junk and I need to replace it. There is a 350 in it right now, im just wondering if i could buy a radiator that would work good for the 350 now and when I eventually change out the motor to a 400, the radiator would work with it also. Is this possible to have a radiator that works for a 350 and 400?

Not sure how much research you have done but looking at aftermarket radiators for a 1980 Firebird there is no difference between 350 and 400, they use the same one. Only difference is between manual and automatic transmission, automatic has a cooler built in for the trani. If your budget can afford it go with an aluminum radiator and use a coolant compatible with aluminum.

That's what I thought. My friend was confusing me when I asked this. How much do you think a good aluminum radiator would cost?

they seem to run between 300 and 500. Make sure the one you get is made to bolt right in with no modifications and try to avoid Made In China
