I have a 81 firebird with a stock 5l engine (pontiac engine)
And i am looking for a bigger one, i found a 6.6l pontiac engine from 77
My question is, is this going to fit without any modifications?
And nog being in the classic car scene for long, is this a good engine?

Many thanks!

The 6.6 L or 400 CID engine was last used in 1979 but your car is in the same generation so the engine will fit. Depends on what you mean by a "good" engine, by 1977 the horsepower was pretty low compared to the late 60's and early 70's but it can be modified.

even an low compression low hp 400 will run better than a 301 on it's best day!!

you will need the motor mounts that bolt to the frame for the 400.

make shur the 400 comes complete with all the brackets and exhaust maniflods. you will need to make brakets to mount the r4 a/c compressor(short one).

Yes the 6.6 is a great engine to use. Keeps the Pontiac in the Pontiac. You probably need all the mounts/accessories with it, tho.
