86-88 fiero gt automatic trans

I am looking to purchase a 86-88 fiero gt. I found a 86 it has a blown automatic trans. I was wondering how much repairs would cost if I had someone do it? Or if I did it myself? Also if I was wondering how difficult it is to change? The guy claims to have factory t-tops which years were they an option

nobody can give you an estimate on trani repairs without opening it and seeing what has to be done. it also varies greatly across the country so checking locally is your best bet

ok I wasn't looking for an exact number more of a rough estimate. I wouldn't want to buy the car if it took 5k to fix it. Also is it a hard job to do myself?

call a local transmission shop for an estimate. An automatic transmission is propably the most complicated system in an automobile and requires specialized tools in many instances. This site will give you a basic idea of just removing the trani
