86 Pontiac Sunbird GT engine swap?

I have an 86 Sunbird 2.0L Turbo (AT), the engine is junk. The turbo longblocks are very expensive to purchase, so I'm wondering if it is possible to use a non-turbo engine with the rest of the mechanics (tranny, EFI, PCM, etc) less the turbo?

the Non turbo engines are not the same they have diffrent bottom end parts (the turbos are built better) and have different provisions for the turbos Oiling and accessory placement ..
so I would think you could adapt it to work without the turbo ..but i would check with a dealer to make sure the blocks are simmilar..
