I found out the second Fiero I am looking at is a '86 GT. I have a '86 SE. one is notchback the other is fast back. Except for the rear clip and back lights are these cars pretty much identical? The reason I'm going for a second car is for one to be a parts car and the other to be my daily driver.

The GT had the fastback body and 15" wheels. The body panels are also slightly different because the fastback body uses a smooth trim on the belt line where the SE uses a ribbed look. This affects the side marker lights as well as the rear and front bumpers.

Also in late 1986 they stopped using the 4-spd manual and started using the getreg 5-spd manual. So it is possible to have one car with a V-6/4-spd and the other with a V-6/5-spd.

I ran the VIN and it decodes as an SE model. I think the previous owner may have done a body panel swap. The drivetrain is a 2.8 V6 with an automatic. Still this "GT" has 35,000 less miles and a rebuilt engine. Runs much better than the first one I bought. Now to decide which one would be better to restore and which one to sell.
