Well, I bought the Fiero today. Had fun driving it, washing it, and started to make a list of what needs to be fixed. I went to move it into the garage, it will not start. It cranks and cranks, but does not fire up. Any direction to start tracking down the problem would be appriciated. (my project is starting off just like I though it would)

Did some research on the net. Tested the ignition coil and it did not show any reading at the Primary and Secondary points. I tapped and slightly moved the coil in its housing (I assume this is not supposed to happen) Then got readings. I'm safe to determine I need a new ignition coil?

The 'washing it' gave me pause. You might have gotten something wet that didn't react well. I always shield my deck vents when I wash mine.

I replaced the ignition coil. It fired right up. Looks like it had the original factory one. You could move the coil pack inside the square housing. I think age and heat finally fried it.

Yes ignition coils, Ignition modules, and pick-up coils tend to go bad due to heat/location of the crossover pipe.
