Sup fellas, i have an 87 firebird thats got the 2.8 that isn't holding a charge. I replaced the battery and put in a remanufactured alternator. And checked the grounds as well, i can charge the battery and start the car and it runs for about 10 minutes but just sucks all the juice back out of the battery. Any ideas? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance.

if you have a voltmeter or test light check the connector with two wires that plugs into the alternator. The heavy one should read full battery voltage and the small one will give you a lower reading. The connector often has broken wires where they attach.

Check for draw on battery....
Put test light between neg post and neg cable( batt pos cable connected ...neg cable disconnected ignition off ) if lite is on you have a draw on batt..
Now try to find out what is drawing on batt
Eliminate obvious computer for engine has a a minor draw for memory...radio may also have a memory
Check voltage output at alt with engine running but everything off then again with all accesories on..... Rev engine a bit voltage should go up under a load....
Good luck let us know what you find.....
