I have had my Grand am for about 2 months now, when I first bought it from the guy it was in very good shape and it never did this. One day, my wife was coming to pick me up from work and as soon as she got off the freeway the car stalled when she stopped at a light, it started right back up, but did it again the next light. It did it to me all the way home as well. Ever since then it doesnt do it as much, but it still does. I have done a complete tune up on it and changed the oil. There is no lights on while driving, but they light up when it stalls, but go out again when it is started back up. Any Ideas because it is getting quite annoying.

Thanks

what components did you replace when you tuned it?

How about the air filter and fuel filter?

I changed the air filter and the fuel filter as well, could it be some kind of bad connection on the fuel injector possibly?? It looks as if when I disconnect it that it has some kind of silicone on it and my uncle said that was causing it, but I got most of it off and its still doing the same thing. Any ideas?

The silicone is there to prevent water from corroding the connection. Try a couple of bottles of fuel injection cleaner. You dont mention the number of miles on the car, injectors get dirty and/or wear out. Throttle body can cause problems also. Lots of possibilities unfortunately.

it is almost up to 105,000 miles, but still runs great except for the stalling, so I will try the fuel injection cleaner and see if that will help, if not I will let you know and tell me what to try next.

This may sound strange, but if the car has air conditioning make sure the compressor clutch is engaging and disengaging properly and the unit runs properly. We had the same problem and it turned out that when the air conditioning compressor engaged it would stall the engine. Also remember when these cars have the controls set to defog/defrost the front windshield this engages the air conditioning compressor as well not just when you "officially" turn on the air. It's a long shot but recognized the symptoms.
