i was wondering where the fuel pump relay is guys? i bought one but it looks like the same on that s my ac relay as well. i know my alternator and ac are connected to it so i didnt know if they were the same one. thanks guys for your info

i also noticed that my fuel pump fuse had blown i switched it out and my car started for a biy but died as i tried to take off. didnt know if thats a sign the pump is out its self. but im lost

If it keeps blowing fuses ,you may have a grounded out fuel pump power wire, another person had the same problem in his 91 and ran a new wire to a toggle switch on the dash to bypass the factory wire .

Like I stated before in your other post, common problem on 91 Sunbirds.

Pic below with the 3 relays circled in yellow.... the one that has a purple wire is the relay for the pump.

so replaced the fuel pump relay. car started. was working well for a bit but after driving a bit it started puttering. idk if that pertains to resolving with directly connecting to ignition.

have you done a fuel pressure test?

Test the pressure first before you go through all that trouble, you should be able to rent a setup like this from the auto parts store . It goes in place of the fuel filter. Look for 9-13 PSI

I now know how to test mine if I need to even though its MPFI with no port. ( learn something new every day) :)

Thanks Mel, didnt know they had this kind of setup.:)
