93 Grand Am boiling out coolant tank

I have a 93 GA 3.3 w/ 155k miles. Runs terrific, but is overheating VERY quickly---before the temp gauge warms up. Boils back out the coolant tank in minutes with no driving time. I noticed a small leak near the thermostat housing, cannot tell if its the t-stat housing leaking or the intake manifold to block area. Not a big leak, but shows evidence of leaking there. Any ideas?

sounds like the thermostat is stuck in closed position

If it's not the stat, my guess is a bad head gasket.
