I started to have problems with my car not shifting into 3rd gear. Finally after letting off the gas it then shifted. After checking fluid I found out it was too low, so I added some. Went home and back to work. On the way home it didn't want to shift again, then not out of 1st. When I got closer to home it shifted into 2nd. I checked the fluid again...my fault, I added too much. I bought a pump and pumped out some. Fluid was fine, took it up and down the road and at that point the transmission started to slip. So then I parked it and got some input and bought a filter and gasket. Replaced them, refilled with fluid. Now nothing, it won't move. No slipping no nothing. Is it now linkage? Is it vacuum or computer problems? Whats next thing to check? HELP!!!!
It's a 3 speed automatic...when I dropped the pan it was really clean. I was suprised.

sounds like its time to take it to a transmission shop

Reads like SERIOUS INTERNAL DAMAGE (Clutch Plates fried) from (who knows how long?) running it with LOW FLUID LEVEL or possibly incorrect Fluid. Torque Converter may be the entire problem yet not likely.
Vacuum and Electrical connections would be checked when fully diagnosed at a repair facility.
I doubt the problem is Linkage related.

keep us apprised of what you discover.
Thank you for your time.

Sorry for thread necro but it sounds like the dealer gave you the wrong trans fluid. Apparently it's a common problem, it happened to me too, three times actually. Only difference is mine is a manual... synchros are shot now.
