i just recently pulled the lt1 motor from my 95 trans am with the intentions of building a gen I 350 sbc with a carburetor and stick in it. now i am wondering if everything will fit under the hodd. well actually if it will fit under the firewall. my main concern is will the older distributor clear the firewall without me having to cut out the firewall?

Why are you stepping backwards on engines and fuel system? Stock vs stock the lt1 is a better motor.

I seriously doubt it would fit without some modification. My 78 has an olds 455 swap and a part of the firewall needed to be removed where the heater fan was and the distributor is pretty close itself. What would be so bad about cutting the firewall? If you would have too it likely would not be much, just take the time and make it look decent.

I always like the idea of putting older engines in newer cars, but I would only do that if its not a daily driver...
