Anyone with info on excessive heat in the trunk?? Have a low miileage original 95 trans am rag top and can not put much in the trunk due to excessive heat from the exhaust. Had a trusted GM mechanic check and there are no heat shields missing--- Only use it in the summer of course. Exhaust and car are in great shape (40,000 miles) Send me a reply if you know

without a picture of the system on the car it will be difficult to tell you if there is anything out of the ordinary with your system.
How long have you had the car/is this a new problem?

If the car is original and in good mechanical shape with no check engine lights, no excessive heat from a partially clogged converter. and not missing heat shields.
You can take a aftermarket approach to the problem and coat the trunk pan with Dynamat. http://www.dynamat.com/

You could also wrap the muffler and intermediate piping in header wrap.

I suspect you may be running the vehicle too lean. you would need to put the car on a 4 or 5 gas analyzer to know for sure if the idle and off idle air fuel ratios are correct.

Nothing wrong with the car. Yes it is all original and I am an old "fart" when it comes to muscle cars etc. Just wondered if anyone else had run into this problem? I know how to modify/ resolve the problem come springtime. Thanks
