Hi,
I will greatly appreciate any help. I have a 96 Sunfire with the 2.2 the RPM gauge reads at zero at idle.. and goes up when you accelrate but is still reading incorrectly. The sunfire stumbles upon acceleration up hill. It reads for a running too lean bank 1 code. I have replaced the crankshaft sensor and the coil packs and ignition module, and the tps (throttle position sensor). And now I have no idea... what would cause the RPM gauge to read at zero at idle? and the engine to run lean(bank 1) ?
Thanks

Thanks :)
I will check that out, I still have no clue as to why my RPM gauge reads at zero while the engine is idling. I suppose I need to trace it to the source.. which would be the crankshaft sensor.. which I changed already. What else conrtols the instrument clusters tachomter?

Thanks,
Cory-

I'm pretty sure the ckps has no effect on the tach. The signal should come from the ignition system. Usually a white wire. I could be wrong though.
