97 pontiac sunfire problems

hey guys, i have a 97 sunfire gt, 5spd, and when it gets warm out, it quits running.

It's fine in the cold, but when it starts to heat up, and eventually when i'm driving, it just dies. Then i can't start it, almost like it's getting no gas or something. I'll let it sit for a 5 or 10 minutes and then it'll start and i can drive it for a few km's, and then it starts to spudder and dies again.

It's not the thermostat because i changed that, so i think it might be the fuel pump.

Any suggestions ???

you hit the nail on the head. change the fuel pump and filter and you will be fine.

Theft system engaged when battery went dead

How do I get the car to work again. The dealership says to put the key in system check position for 15 minutes and then start the car . That does not work. Any Ideas !

ok ihave a 99 gt with a theft system if you take off the positive battery terminal for a little while lat the computer reset then hook it back up it should work if not you have to get a code from the dealer for the theft system

i have a 95 model that wasdoing that and i changed the coolant temp sending unit and as wild as it sounds it cured it.
