Ok, you say the tranny slips, when it does this, do the engine RPM's go up? Is it making any noises? Do you have a check engine light on? You say oil shot up the dipstick, were you trying to check the oil with the engine running? How much oil is in it, and how long has it been since it was changed? The only thing that can cause a manual transmission to slip is a bad clutch/pressure plate assembly, or bad slave cylinder. Did you do the clutch replacement? If you did the work, did you replace the slave cylinder as well? If you had the clutch job done by a shop, you need to take it back to them, and have them look at it. As far as the oil leak goes, are you talking about the gasket at the top (cam/rocker cover), or down lower, the actual head gasket? I really could use some more info, and a pic of the oil leak would help.

its does makes noise its more like a grinding. engine light is not on. when i checked oil the car was off, it was replaced 2 months ago. clutch/pressure plate was changed 2 months ago. shop did it.and leaking at the top gasket. there will be pics later in the day thank you for you help

Ok, is the oil over the fill line on the dipstick? The leaking gasket isn't too hard to change to take care of that issue. Here is what I suggest you try about the tranny noise. Go to a empty parking lot, and put the car through a couple of turns left and right at full steering wheel lock at a low speed. If you hear a popping noise, you have a bad CV joint.

msmith1956- how would that affect the tranny to slip?

I don't think it would. As I said earlier, if your tranny is really slipping, clutch/pressure plate, and slave cylinder are about the only things that will cause that. I was just trying to help you figure out what the grinding noise was. You also say this slipping only seems to happen when you take a turn. It is possible that one of the half shafts isn't completely seated properly into the transmission, and it is separating when turning causing the tranny not to pull. I really suggest you take it back where you had the work done so they can get the car in the air and inspect it. If they did mess something up doing the work, they should fix it.

thank you soo much ill bring it to the shop and see what they got to say
