My 97 Sunfire has 400,000 miles!! Recently having issues after driving. When I turn the car off and restart after a short time the engine will run very rough and sometimes dies. Hard to restart unless I let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes then it will restart and run like it is not getting fuel then it will clear up. Have replaced plugs, wires, coil packs, all sensors, fuel filter and gutted cat. Mounted the coil packs on the old base plate possible problem? Also replaced the fuel injectors!! Any help?

do you have a check engine light on? have you checked the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator for gasoline, if found replace the regulator.Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gauge?
So if there is fuel inside the vacuum line that connects to the top of the fuel regulator, this would mean the regulator is bad with fuel leaking past the diaphram? I have changed the two O-rings where the fuel line slides inside the regulator and where the regulator slides into the fuel rail because I found fuel wetting the outside of the regulator housing. I didn't look inside the vacuum line or where it attaches to the regulator?
