98 Pontiac Grand Am leaking oil

I have a 98 Grand Am SE 2.4L, it's been a real good running car until today. I drove to the store and everything was fine, on the way home my oil light kept going on and off. When I got out of my car i checked the oil and it was completely empty, and oil was everywhere. I just got an oil change about a 1,000 miles ago, so i prob lost about 4qts within 10 min. It seems like oil sprayed everywhere especially around where you check the transmission fluid and behind the backside of the engine. car has 180,000mi on it too

any help would be appreciated thx

did you check if the oil filler cap was still on the engine, you may have lost the oil over the last 1,000 miles not the last 10 minutes? did you restart the engine after filling it and look for the source of the oil spray?

yes the filler cap is still on tight. im goin to have to fill up tomorrow and try figuring out the source where its coming from

figure it out. the leak was coming from the oil pressure switch, went to autozone bought a new one for $10, took 2 minutes to replace. car runs awesome now
