Might have a bad connection to the starter or battery posts. I would first rule out a weak battery by jumping or charging the battery you have. If all that is good the solenoid on the starter itself is the next step.
I had this same problem. I thought it was something like the electrical connections, but when i got my car towed and to the shop, they found it was the battery that was dead.
