Everything works, It only overheats when i idle for a long time. the fan wont spin, so I think that's the cause for overheating. How do i fix that. Im a novice in this field so please be detailed
you have to determine if it's the sensor the fan motor or something else. You could start by applying power directly to the fan to see if the motor works.
I've a '93 Sunbird LE and the coolant fan stopped operating so I replaced the Relay and the Coolant Temp Sensor to no avail. Next I'll check the Fan Motor but I'll remove it from its housing for easier access to the connections.
Check ALL WIRING for possible loose connections or a OPEN (wire cut or grounding).
When I idle the car for a while, the gauge creeps past 1/2 (where the Fan used to cut in) yet doesn't go much further than 3/4.
UPDATE!!
I pulled the Fan Motor and installed a new one. Problem solved.

...please be detailed!
First, go to a Auto Parts location and buy a manual for that Model/Year of vehicle.
Procedures are DETAILED based on a complete teardown and rebuild from toe (front) to tail (back).
