99 se grand am brake pedal goes to floor when car is on

Did you adjust the rear brakes after replacing the shoes?

yup I did that after you told me how I even tried adjusting them too tight. Is it possible the booster or a rod is bent somewhere? This has me stumped.

you could have a bad master, cannt imagine why the rod would be a problem, you didnt do anything to it, correct?

No but I was thinking there had to be alot of pressure to blow the brake line so I must have had to push down hard on the pedal. Some times when I have the car or a car in the air I will put a stick on the seat to press the pedal down so I can take the lugs off. In the rear of course. I was thinking maybe I bent the rod or something?????? How far is it suppose to stick out to push into the master? Is the an adjustment for it? It only goes in and comes out an inch on this one doesnt seem right. I dont think anyone would know that. Maybe im being paranoid at this point I dont know. Maybe I will try another master.

I doubt it would be the rod myself. I'm thinking you might have a master that is bypassing. The only real way to rule that out is to carefully clamp off the brakes at the hoses front and rear and see if you have any pedal travel.. more than a fraction of an inch, and it's a bypassing master.

So changed out another master cyl. Same result. Didnt work. Im begining to worry I may have to have it towwed to a garage. Or get temp plates and attempt to drive it there myself. I have never had this much trouble with any other car.
