99 Sunfire 2.2L starting issues

When i go to start the ol' girl she cranks and cranks so hard, it does turn over & then still runs like a champ. My bf said to put new plugs in ( had car since 05' and never changed them ) or maybe a distributor/ rotor kit? How can i tell if it has a distributor/ rotor or coils?

If the car has around 100k miles, replace the plugs, the plug wires, the air filter and the fuel filter. It doesnt have a distributor.

Thanks so much! I picked up some plugs & wires today, but they didnt have an air filter in stock.
