Hey guys. Not my first time dealing with a fiero, but the first one I will have owned. I'm going to a guys shop to look at an 86 gt v6 auto car that doesn't run. He said the previous owner pulled the dizzy and never could get it running when he put it back in. I have no clue why he pulled it but will ask when I go look. Any suggestions as to why it may not run would be appreciated. I'm guessing someone put it in 180° out, but it may not be that simple.

not putting it in correctly is a common problem on any engine, as you seem to already know TDC on #1, rotor points to #1.

I have mechanical knowledge. I've worked on all my own vehicles. I was just wondering if there might be some typical fiero problem I should be looking for.

Commonly on the V-6 the pickup coil inside the distributors go bad. This requires the distributor to be removed to change it. Chances are he did not install it correctly. Hand turn the engine so the timing mark on the crank is at 0* then pop off the distributor cap. The rotor should be pointing at the # 1 or # 4 spark plug wire. If it is not, Then pull distributor out, turn engine until cylinder one is TDC on the compression stroke and then install distributor so rotor points correctly. If it does point correctly, Check spark plug wire firing order.
