Hi, My abs light was on so I got a diagnostic test done which told me LF wheel/area. I was told 90% that it was the wheel bearing. So I went and got the wheel hub and had a friend/mechanic change it for me. abs light is stilll on. I took off the +battery to reset the electric but it is still on. Does it take time for this to reset ie: a certain amount of driving for it to reset. Any suggestions?

the code told you the left front wheel sensor was not communicating to the abs computer. So the sensor could be bad or the wire harness. The mechanic you took the work to should have first tested the old sensor before replacing it. He should also should have been responsible for checking the system after he replaced it, you shouldnt be the person trying to reset anything.

Short answer is no, there is no relearning period when replacing a wheel speed sensor/hub assembly. As soon as it is replaced, and that was the problem, the light will go out as the BCM always tests these upon startup.

I'd confirm it is the LF wheel speed hub/area by watching the wheel speed readings as the car is moving.
