The other day, I was driving along on the interstate and drove over the white line on the right side of the road & hit the rumble strips. My car chimed & the ABS, Service Engine and Low Trac light came on. I proceeded to pull over, because this never happened and thought I had gotten a flat tire. I turned the car off, walked around checking the tires and found nothing wrong. I got back in the car and turned the car back on and the lights remained off. I was in the beginning of a longer trip, so I continued and about 3 hours after the initial lights came one, they reappeared. The car drives fine (nothing out of the ordinary) and brakes fine too, though the ABS no longer activated (tested it because the roads were a little slick).

Once I got to my destination, I parked it. I moved it today (to a different parking lot on campus) and the lights came on on start up. I took it for a test drive and noticed no difference in acceleration or any kind of lurching, weird sounds, etc.

I'm familiar with mechanics, though this is a new one for me, because nothing appears wrong except the ABS aren't working...

Check the wiring to the wheel speeed sensors. My guess is one of them is loose or broken.

Warning Lights and Turn Signal/Hazard Lights Problem

The same thing happens to me. I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE. My service engine soon/service vehicle soon/ABS/Brake Light/Low Trac light constantly stays on. Nothing is wrong with the car. It drives just fine. I am not familiar with mechanics. I do know that sometimes it is some type of bad sensor will cause it. I have had the codes reset, but they reappear. Nothing comes on the analyzer that anything is wrong. Any suggestions would be great.

I also have a turning blinker problem and hazard light problem. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I think I have a short in the wiring because if they are working, I can hit a bump (not necessary a huge one) on the road and the blinkers/harard lights don't work or vice versa. Sometimes I can turn on my hazard lights then turn on the turn signal before I turn on the hazard lights and the turning blinkers will start working sometimes. Any suggestions on this will help. My turn signal switch is intergrated with the hazard lights and in my steering column. The steering column will have to be taken apart to replace. It is also around 100 bucks just for the part.

Have it scanned for ABS codes, one of the wheel speed sensors are bad or a bad speed sensor harness.
