I've searched the forums and internet and can't find an answer anywhere...

We have a 2007 Torrent with the Pionner 7-speaker system. I would like to replace the factory head unit with an aftermarket navigation unit. However, I wan't to keep the same speakers including the factory subwoofer in the back.

Anyone done this? Would appreciate any input. Thanks.

You can swap in an aftermarket stereo. You just need to buy an adapter for it. The adapter hooks the speakers to the aftermarket stereo and maintains all other functions. The thing is GM runs all the alarms (headlights on, door ajar, etc) thru the stereo on all vehicles after 2005.

You need the GM Factory Integration Adapter

General Motors data bus interface (model GMOS-LAN-02)
Retains OnStar and factory door chime with aftermarket radio in select GM vehicles

You can buy one here: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120OSLAN02/GM-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html?tp=3486#details-tab
