When the dip stick is in place and with the engine running, the air has to go somewhere and shoots oil out of the gaskets/seals in the engine. So, what could be causing air to come out the dipstick hole?

Would be awesome if it was an easy fix, since I don't want too spend to much cause I'm trying to sell it.

PCV valves?

Probably blowby from worn piston rings. You can check the pcv system to make sure it is working.

Thanks. I found one cleaner called "Mega Power Worn Motor Treatment" that only cost about 75 bucks. Here's what the website says "Mega Power: Ends blowby and restores zip, power, ends oil burning. Helps add to the motor dependability. Puts-off overhaul, people claim. I agree! I use it in all my older vehicles. In new ones you need half as much since they are way cleaner". Figured 75 bucks is a lot better then a complete engine overhaul so it couldn't hurt.

What's the worst that can happen? The engine stop working, then you need an engine overhaul anyway.

Btw, the pcv system seems to be working just fine.

Ok so I had alot of air coming out the dipstick hole, then my car had a misfire on cylinder 1 so I took it in the shop to have a mechanic look at it. Turned out the misfire was cause by a plugged cat. converter so we loosened it to get rid of the msfire until I either bore it out or put on a new cat. But... Today after I parked my car, I went to check the oil and the oil level is in the same spot it was a week ago, which is halfway up in the operating range on the dipstick. Which is really good since I usually put a little oil in every few days or once a week but haven't had to put any in lately. So, I started the car, popped the hood, pulled out the dipstick and put my hand over the hole to see how much air was coming out. This time, less then half of the air was coming out of the hole as was before. So I'm thinking maybe having a plugged up cat was causing all the air in my engine, since now there is minimal air coming out with my cat bolts loosened up. What do you think?

I know I can easily test out my theory by removing the cat, starting up the car and checking the dipstick hole for air. And I plan on doing that the next chance I get.
