ok just got this as a trade, its an 01 montana runs great drives great, has some hard shifts but im used to a prius so it will be diff, ok i turn the heater on go up to 4 but when i turn it up to 5 it shuts off, could this be the heater relay problem like on a dodge, is it simple to fix if so how?

also another question, my temp for my coolant runs around 175-185, it has been cold here, but what temp is it supposed to run at, heat works great, never overheats while parked, just curious

with your hard shift problem i would check all your motor and tranny mount then check your torque strut mount.. as for the heater i would believe it would be the relay..since the higher the number, the more power has to be used..so I would test them/it

Never heard of blower motor resister causing only the highest setting not to work, but plausible. It is a pain in the rear to change also if you have big hands. I will say this is a 20 dollar part to replace, and chances of it going bad eventually is pretty strong if it is the original.

Also, my moms van had a hard shift between two gears and in November, the transmission finally went.

Resistor controls all speeds but high. Check the relay. you can jumper the high side of the relay to confirm. Find out which wire in the plug is hot all the time and commect it to the port across the plug from it.
