I have a Pontiac Montana 2003, both battery cables are new ones bought by part number, battery almost new. Some times when engine at high revs appeared battery signal at dash. I got tested battery and alternator and both are good, cleaned also terminal ends of red cable alternator-starter without improvement.

Then I made (like temporal testing) an electric cable with round connectors from the positive alternator to the positive at Fuses/Relays control box. And Eureka no more battery light since several months ago.

I wanna change the complete red cable from the alternator to the positive at starter by original one, it have a fuse link. But I can't find the correct part number to place the order.

Does anyone know the part number or how to find out?

I already searched with the words "cable", "harness", "generator", "alternator" and combinations, but apparently this company do not either. I looked for it at several online parts and GM stores

A piece from the junk yard is not good idea, it an also be at life limit. But a new replacement is good option, it does not necessary have to be a GM original.

Has anyone changed this cable on this model?. What part have you used?

Thanks

Thanks but the illustration have a mistake, where say "terminal Alternator (generator)" is wrong, really this point is the positive of the starter. The positive battery cable, and the positive output cable from the alternator are different ones.

So both are connected to the positive of the starter

get one from a junk yard for a Montana or a Chevrolet Venture or get a rebuild kit for the one you have
