Will always crank, but intermittenly won't start.Towed to dealer, they said needs new fuel pump, replaced pump worked fine for days then trouble back again. Fuel pressure at rail always good, replaced fuel filter, always has spark. Will run when gas put in throttle body till gas is gone. No codes when dead or running. Does this in all weather conditions. Might not start for days, being checked 4 times each day. Then will run for days. Other than 200,000 miles on her pretty reliable. Bought new camshaft sensor and crankshaft (7x) goes in side of block, hoping someone else can help before replacing then cause this car is not easy to work on.Thank you for any and all help/advice !

If it runs when you put gas into it throught the throttle body it is a fuel related problem nothing to do with the crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor. Why after the dealer didnt fix the vehicle correctly, wasnt it taken back to the dealer? Have you considered the issue might be the fuel pump relay or a partial break in the wire harness. When it wont start, have you done a fuel pressure test? Do you hear the fuel pump run when you have the wont start condition?

A while back I had a 2000 with similar issues and after 3 fuel pumps , turned out to be the wiring harness Connector was burned up and not making proper contact anymore. Replaced harness which had the connector on it and all was well.

2002 model, fuel pressure at rail is good at all times. But doesnt the crank sensor send pulses to the injectors ? I cant get to the injectors without rolling the engine, so i cant verify if they are pulsing gas or not. Pump relay was changed out, but still good pressure to rail in all conditions. Dealer wanted 1200. To change fuel pump so i did it with help, but didnt check rail pressure until after i changed it. Guess i changed out a good pump in error, good learning experience anyway. And there's the reason i didnt bring it back to the dealer. They told me fuel pump and charged me 120 for the computer diagnostic. Guess i need to start chasing wires and connectors. Could this possibly be a problem with the steering column (ignition switch). Thanks for any further help you can give..bob

found solution after numerous shops looked at it, intermittent Camshaft sensor failure. Replace and all is well.
