I am having a few issues with my 04 grand am currently and its getting very frustrating because I have had 2 separate mechanics tell me everything seems good, no problems.

I am experiencing a pulsating/vibrating sound coming from the front end, drivers side and just what seems to me lately like a very choppy ride, it's like I feel every bump, crack and unevenness in the road. I recently had a wheel bearing replaced, the mechanic told me the other was perfectly ok. I just had 4 new tires put on in april and had them checked just recently to see if they were out of round or out of balance, both mechanics told me they were perfect and wearing down evenly on all 4. I had my shocks and struts inspected, again, both told me they were good.

The only thing I can think of at this point is my shitty alloy rims which I think are corroded because my tires leak about 10-12 psi a week. Other than that, I have absolutely no clue. I'm bringing my car to a third mechanic to check it out. Before I do, I would appreciate some advice or ideas to what this could possibly be so I can have the mechanic take a look. Thanks very much.

I forget to add that the vibrating/pulsating starts at 55mph and ends at 60mph, hope that can help

have you tried moving the 2 front wheels to the back to see if the problem stops?

Yes, I have and the problem is still persisting. Also, I had my rotors and brake pads replaced Feb of last year, so I don't believe that is the problem

The two mechanics who I had inspect my car told me my struts were in good condition, same with my shocks. Could it be a CV joint problem?

That's the next link in the chain up front. There may be some visual evidence like leaking lubricants, a split in one of the boots ....

If a CV joint, it's probably only one (you hope!) can you tell if the vibration comes from one side or the other?

Yeah, the vibration only comes from the drivers side. I'm taking it to a different mechanic monday to see if these guys can figure it out, I'll have them check everything again plus cv joints. I'm worried it's gonna be the drivetrain or something super costly.

Hey, if it's only on the driver's side, worst likely is the CV joint. If it were the transaxle it wouldn't be limited to one side.
