Anybody had problems with Heater fan selector switch

Avid Pontiac owner but my sister's Torrent keeps eating Heater Speed Switches. It is a three switch block with speed selector, hot or cold, and foot, face, defrost. Well the selector part keeps going out and dark while the rest of the unit works fine any solutions appreciated. Should note she had a leaking heater core problem fixed, but it is destroying those switches thanks in advance

My condolences on the heating core issue. Replacing them in the Torrent is a NIGHTMARE that essentially involves stripping the dashboard down to individual atoms

Either you are getting some bad switches or you have a short/overload somewhere. Is there any consistency in how/when these switches blow? If a new one from GM is too expensive, I'd try to get one from a scrapyard.
