Auto transmission

I have bought a midlife crisis 6.6 trans am auto
Every time I put it in drive there is a lurch as it selects 1st , then it runs through the gears fine and reverse is fine any ideas

What is the engine RPM when you put it in gear?
Did you check the transmission fluid level and color and smell?
When is the last time the filter and fluid were changed?
Did you have a shop do a used car inspection?
