auxiliary temp gauge

the dash coolant temp gauge doesn't always work. i want to install an after market gauge. where on an 01 grand am with a 3.4 engine can i put the temp sender in the engine

Remove the factory sender

but i need that sender for the ecm

Find a brass Y fitting to screw into the port and attach both senders to the fitting
