Back seat/trunk 2000 Pontiac grand am?

I needed the extra space to move something, but I couldn't lower the back seat. how does that thing work?

Inside the trunk, there are two little black plastic handles, one on the driver side, and one on the passenger side, pull the levers and push the seats over from inside the trunk.
