balance shaft alignment tool

I am trying to find a balance shaft aligment tool. I don't really know if I need to use one. I have a 98 grand am gt with a 2.4 twin cam. has anybody used one or if there is no need to use please help me out.

I am inquiring because i am removing the rod bearings. I got this car and it had a knock. Number one cylinder spun the bearing and before i proceed i want to make sur the crank isn't trashed.
