i experienced the security light fiasco on my 2001 pontiac grand am se. after determining my bcm was at fault i replaced it. After i plugged in the new bcm and reset the passlock system my car started fine. now i am wondering if i still need to pay $100 for the dealer to program it when everything in the car works.

Surprised it didnt need your VIN programmed into it. If eveything is working, no warning lights of any kind, no need to do anything
