I put a new thermostat in that stopped the overheating but now my heat is cold sometimes I've checked everything is there a way to bleed the coolant system in case it has air

Watch the video

There are no bleeder valves on the water pump are on the thermostat housing on the thermostat housing where the bleeder should be it goes to a hose which ends up at the coolant reservoir, there is a fitting there which I think you could bleed from but it's not a bleeder like it shows on the video. Thanks for any help I live in central New York it is cold out and my heater runs warm and then turns cool

What temperature thermostat did you use?
Did you try Google "GM 3.4 cooling system bleed"?

Years ago I had a problem getting the correct valve and had to install a simple plug. It may be that someone else had the same problem. To bleed it, just remove the valve and let the air escape from the hole. My son-in-law borrowed the car for an extended period of time and the it had a slow coolant leak. I had shown him how to bleed the system. He chose not to bleed it at all and it eventually damaged the engine. Fortunately, I located another engine with 70,000 less miles on it. Three years later I am still in love with the vehicle.

When I replaced the thermostat and bled the system really good it no longer overheated and I had heat once again that lasted about 3 weeks now the car has no heat and overheating where there should be a bleeder valve on some cars on the thermostat housing mine has a pipe fitting there which runs over to a rubber hose which goes into the reservoir coolant tank that is where I originally bled the system from and had success when I went recently and tried to bleed again no water comes out of the fitting whatsoever I even disconnected the whole fitting with the car running nothing is coming out from there decisive someone a clue or what may have happened thank you for any help

If everything was fine for 3 weeks and now you have a problem either the thermostat has failed or you have a leak somewhere.

Should water come out of the pipe fitting going to the coolant reservoir it was coming out before so I could bleed air out of the system. Now I am unable to bleed it there because there is no water coming out any longer. Is something wrong if water will not come out of that pipe fitting?

Yes coolant has to flow to the reservoir for the system to work. Either it's blocked or very low on coolant.

One more question and I will leave you alone do you know how to possibly unblock it?

Depends on what's blocking it, have you ever used a cooling system flush, Prestone for instance.
