blinkers

My wife has 2002 grand am we have noticed that after she makes a left or right turn the blinker moves back like it is suppose to but the blinker still sounds like it is on do they have a flasher like the older cars had and if so where are they located at? thanks for any help

It could be either the multifunction (turnsignal switch assembly) gone bad or the four way flasher ..both are known issues with that year vehicle, the multifunction switch is the entire assembly where the lever is inside the steering column and the flasher is the button assembly usually on the dash ...

Thanks for the help I think it might be the flasher assembly because it sounds like the its comming from inside the dash in that area again thanks for the help
