The water nipple on the back of the block is rusting out. Any advice on how to remove the nipple.
Also, where is a good place to buy a replacement. When I put the new one in do I need to use sealer of some type?

A screwdriver and a hammer to punch a hole into it and work it out.

A brass one would be a better bet than a steel one to replace it.

To install, a little Permatex non hardening sealer and a socket that fits inside the freeze plug and hammer to install.

Real easy to do unless it's the one behind the flexplate, then the transmission has to come out.

Doug in P.R. :)

I think he is referring to the heater hose nipple that is actually located on the passenger side head of a V8.

Removal and installation is the same as freeze plug, just use a socket that goes around the hose connection. be sure to clean out the hole before trying to install the new one.
