Blown/warped head

Last time I was working on it, i started it and pulled it into the garage left it run, the air smelt really rich (which isnt normal for it), After finishing what I was doing I hopped in hoping to take it for a ride, but when backing out whenever I feed it alittle gas it would smoke and I couldnt see. I took it for a ride and then checked the engine, and there was fresh oil below the head. Turned it off for an hour or two and started it gave it some gas and it smoked and now ticked. I'm assumined broken or warped head, but i was told check what fluids are burning. Any suggestions? What is it, What should I check, what should I do?
 
White smoke = water/coolant
Blue/gray smoke = oil

You could have just blown the head gasket.
It does not mean the head is cracked or warped.
Generally warped happens when it overheats.

Go borrow a compression tester from NAPA or Auto Zone and test compression.
Or just pull the head off and check it out.

It had overheated when I bought it, driving it home from jersey we got 2 miles and the drive belt snapped it took the back smoking for us to notice. Overheated to the point of smoking from engine, now we havent had issues since and that was several months ago. I am probably going to do a engine swap to a v6 anyway, well see.

If the overheating happened months ago, It still could have warped the head slightly and it just took some time for the head gasket to fail. In all honesty, If you are going to take the head off (not too bad to do on the 4-cyl) you can have the head checked. If slightly warped they can deck it to get it flat again then have them do a port and polish on the head. Another option would be to grab a head from a junkyard and a shop clean it up then port and polish it. It would take about half a day to swap the heads.
You would have a new head and a little bit more power on the 4-cyl until you got everything ready for the V-6 swap.
 
this car isnt on he road anyway yet. it still needa alginment or a suspension part fixed and inspection. The v6 was an idea but the guy with donor car wants to much for a parts car..
