2 more pics of '66 Bonne, same show.

BTW: It's showtime once again up in NE OH. The North Am Int'l Auto Show @ IX Ctr starts this weekend (I'll be there!). Always has a full hall of classics + all the new cars. Shame to see Pontiac gone (& Olds, Plymouth, Mercury, Saturn).

P.S. You'll 'drive' yourself nuts if you focus on every little alignment/flaw. Your car looks great & you're probably the only one who'd ever notice anything wrong.

You are correct about going insane. Doing the other car I had to realize they were not perfect from the factory. The Cat is no different. But the panel gaps are already better than OEM, well the whole car is. Thanks for the pictures !!!

389 block

Anyone out there have a extra 389 for sale ? Bare block, short or whole engine ? Know there's got to be something hiding in the back of your garages somewhere !!!!

WOW! Very nice job. What carburetor is under the air cleaner? What is the purpose of those metal plates on the lower edge of both valve covers?

Hey Mel, 4160 under the cleaner.
A little Holley. Those are plug wire looms. Notice how clean the routing of the wires are, clear of the headers and
no spaghetti.

Arent you giving away horsepower with the small Holley, I guess 600 or 650 CFM, stock Quadrajet is 750. You are running a Performer RPM good for up to 6,500 RPM and I assume at least a mild cam shaft.
So the wires are attached to those plates on their bottom side, very nice.

Considering the car only had a 2 bbl. sitting on a 60 lb. iron manifold the 600 cfm is most likely a huge improvement. All the head work, totally hogged intake & exhaust. Yes mild comp L476 D270. On paper should be putting out at flex plate 1 hp. per cube. it's a 395 now. Runs great, smooth, nice lope. If I wanted big power would have dropped a 455 in her. Remember the car is for my better half, she did not need big power, heck it's all she can do to run a leaf blower !!! !!!!!

Rims & rubber

Another long winter of work. Was able to get new tread on the old girl...

Morning Mel,

No have not driven it as of yet. Just had another storm, everything covered in mud and snow. Need to install rear spring spacers for better tire fitment and raise her up just a bit. You are probably correct about the coil, I will revisit mounting options. Once all is dried up she will go down to the pavement and make sure the brakes work properly. SOON !!!!

Hey all,

She drives great, occasionally have to touch the steering wheel. Plenty of power and smooth as silk. I am very surprised at what a pleasure the Cat is to drive.

Mel I relocated the coil.....

And here's the best part. Took her to the first show last weekend. Who would of guessed !!!!
