The part I hate the most is here, Body work. Finished welding the trim and old slide hammer holes. Started laying mud. Hope this one will not take four months like the last..

So are you mostly a body man, or do you do it all?

Do you work in the automotive field?

Thanks.

No not in the auto field, just a hobby. Have always repaired my own equipment. Learned a lot from the first project, that body work in a pain in the a$$. If your interested, here's the first.

Why do you have the trunk lifts taped off?
Are you as good with the other stuff (tranny, engine) as you are with the body work?
I'm looking for my 2nd project. My first was a 69 Polara 2 door hardtop. It was mostly a disaster, though I THINK I learned a lot.
How old are you? I'm 48, and I am mostly a book person. I've loved old cars my entire life, but being a book person, I didn't take the plunge until about 6 years ago.
I'd give my left arm to be a real car guy. Oh well.

Not good just consistent. Was shooting Lizard Skin and didn't want it on the hinges. Engine, Trans, Suspension, have a look. Your older than I am. Don't worry I'll be that old some day. I wanted a cheap Ford for the first project in case I screwed it up, no big deal just a Ford. The Cat will be much nicer, a cruiser.

What was the Ford? Did you say it was a Falcon? What did you end up doing with it? I know I ask a lot of questions, but you seem to be an amateur like me, though a talented one. I think my wife (and my kids) will kill me if my next project goes as badly as my first one, but I really do think I've learned a lot. I'm a writer-editor with the fed gov by trade. What do you do?

Keep me posted. As soon as I find my 65 Cat convertible, I'll be posting on here 10 times a day. I might even write a book about it. I've actually sold 3 books during my career, the last one published by St. Martin's.

Still have it, only has 700 miles since resto. It is a 69' Falcon. Was uncle Henry's Ford Escort in '69. Well it's different now. I work for State DOT. Ready to hang it up and do whatever.....
