Hi guys, I have a 2001 Aztek, and I am having some issue with my brake lights. The two lower brake lights will not come on when I apply the brakes. The third (top one) works fine. Both the signal lights and hazard lights work fine. I have checked the fuses, blubs are fine because flashers and hazards are working. And I have traced the wiring from the fuse panel to the back, all looks well there too. I even tried replacing the multi-function switch. If anyone has any ideas that could be causing my problem I would be glad to hear them. Thanks in advance.

have you tested the bulb socket contacts for power with a test light or voltmeter?
I assume the bulbs are dual filament, are you sure one of the filaments isn't burnt out?

The bulbs are dual filaments, they seem to be working fine because I believe the turn signal uses the same filament (brightest one) as the brake light. I pulled the plug right before the socket there is power for the signals but it doesn't look like there is power for the brake lights?

you are going to have to find a circuit diagram to see where the harness splits between the center high mount light and the tail lights.

ok thanks for the reply's, not sure where i would find that? but as far as i know and from what i've read it seems like its 2 totaly different circuts there is also 2 brake light switches on the pedal. thanks again

cruise control interrupt switch?

yes my cruise control also doesn't work at the moment problem started at the same time.

replaced the brake light switch still no luck, also there seems to be power when i test all the sockets at the back?
