Hi.

I am new in this forum. So bad I am here because of a problem with my 2008 Pontiac Torrent with no AWD.

This starter a while ago with the brake system service/stabily track service indication.

This just turned off the track control and because of it was unable to engage the cruise control.

Then after some time the unit starts to decelerate. Like if trying to push the throtle pedal and the same time pushing the brake pedal.

My mechanic tryed to isolate the ABS valve with no luck.

He tells me the possible problems:

transmission
brake master cilynder
booster

Please I really need help here. Do not want to go to the GM dealer because they will try to replace everything new as first and only option.

Thanks

Did your mechanic use a scanning tool on the ABS system to determine the cause of the light? If he didnt and you dont want to go to a dealer, find a properly equipped mechanic.

Yes hi did, and there is no info about it.

He also thinks that due to tranny oil ovheat temp it brakes with out pushing the pedal.

Well you need the code that caused the light to come on. What do you mean "tranny oil ovheat temp"? The transmission isnt going to cause the brake light to come on.

The transmission shouldn't be able to apply the brakes, maybe you need a new mechanic?
