I am planning on buying a 97 Montana and the owner says it needs an intake gasket cause there's coolant in the oil. I'm pretty mechanically capable but I don't have a ton of experience with Montanas. First how simple is a intake gasket replacement on these?
Second, could this possibly be a blown head gasket and he's simply saying its the intake gasket to get me to buy it?
I lost my last car cause of a BHG.
Anyone know any questions I can ask to see how truthful he's being with me?

A head gasket could be detected by a hyrocarbon test of the the coolant or perhaps a compression test. It's not usual for the lower intake manifold gasket to need replacement. I'd be concerned how long the problem has existed, you can wipe engine bearings with coolant in the oil.
