Can a Pontiac Grand Prix 2000 model parts work on 1998 Grand Am?

My friends 2000 Grand Prix crapped out on him and hes done buying stuff for it so we have been trying to find out if we can use parts on his car for mine. We know the tires and wheels in general won't work, but could we use the shocks or any other parts?

for shocks check with an aftermarket supplier to see if they use the same part number
