Hello, here is a story. I am 24 years old now.

When I was 18 I bought my first car. It was a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am SE, 2.3L, quad 4 engine. I bought it in 2003 from a little old lady who only drove the car once in a while. It only had 35,000 miles on it. She said she only drove the car to the grocery store and Church like 3x a week.

I drove that car hard, but not like a racing car. 1,000 miles later one day while at a light the car shut off. I tried starting it and it didn't work. The engine cranked, but never turned over. I had the car towed to my mechanic. I thought that it would be a minor quick fix.

I was heart broken when my mechanic said, "shes very sick". The mechanic showed me the engine. It looked like the engine threw up oil all over itself and in itself. Since I bought the car for only 1,000 dollars and had no money left, I had the car laid to rest.

What happened to my car? What was the condition to the engine called. My father told me that, "I woke the car up". Was he right?

Who knows from your description. Cannt you ask the mechanic? Didnt he give you a better answer then "shes very sick"? If there was oil all over the outside of the engine did you have a leak and never checked the oil level and then drove the engine till it seized?
